How to List Educational Qualifications in a Resume?

Sometimes fresh graduates find some difficulties in listing educational qualifications in a resume. This task is not as severe as they may imagine. It merely requires three steps:

1. Start with the highest educational level, uch as Master Degree, Ph.D., MBA, etc.

2. Write your degree, your major, the name of your college, and your graduation date.

3. List your degrees in a chronological order.

Until now, everything sounds simple and clear. Now, let’s take a look at the most common worries that applicants face in this section:

Many challenges are evolving around the applicants, who found difficulties in listing their degrees. For example: would it be the same case if you have switched school or changed your college major? Or if you chose another educational path different from the national educational system? Or if you are on your way to getting your final degree and you didn’t complete yet?

Educational achievements are different depending on the student choices. Some of them decide to take a longer educational path such as the Masters or a Ph.D. others want a shorter educational (formation) allowing, them to enter specific job titles.

1.Applicants who Obtained the Senior School Certificate or an Equivalent Diploma:

There are many jobs that only require a pre-degree Certificate. If your educational achievements have stopped there, you need to list the name of your recent degree in the education section of your resume. Even if you list a single line for that, it is enough. There is no need for stating the schools you attended. However, if you have any special awards or any high-school honors, you can list them too. 2. Applicants who Obtained the Bachelor Degree Without Completing College:

In this case, many applicants are worried, whether they will be only counted as bachelor graduates or more than a degree graduate. Your educational section in your resume should fit your educational circumstances and your application. If you are applying for jobs that only require a bachelor's degree, put the name of your degree, school, and graduation date. If the job you have applied for requires higher than a bachelor's degree, include the college years that you have passed, with a grade average.

3.Applicants who Obtained More than a College Degree:

In this case, you should not write about high-school education, since you have graduated from college. You should only list your highest educational level following the essential writing tips.

4. Applicants who Didn’t Obtain any Degree:

For applicants who have dropped school or didn’t get the chance to fulfill their studies, they can list the level they have reached. For example: achieved primary school. However, if they have obtained any license from trade school, they can put it in the educational section of a resume as this license is required in their job application. For example, if I am applying as a bus driver, the qualification required for this job is a driving license. Therefore, I can put my driving license in the educational section of my resume, followed by the name of the institution and the date of obtaining that license.

5.Applicants who Have Studied Abroad:

If you have studied abroad and you want to work in your original country, you need to do research to see what is equivalent to your foreign degree. Are you planning to study/work abroad? Check this article to know about the equivalent of your degree:
